"My objective in getting started with FSIC was to not only gain better pricing, but also to get some stability in pricing. I wanted to be able to have someone else track the pricing to make sure I always get what was agreed upon."

What We Do

Chef in Restaurant KitchenFSIC, Inc. is the foodservice industry source for Strategic
Cost Management. We provide
a robust set of  purchasing support solutions that help you manage costs, contracts, and rebates.

Here is how FSIC has helped a few of our clients:

  • FSIC captured over $1 million dollars in rebates and restitution/overcharges for one client in one calendar year.
  • FSIC identified a $110,000 overcharge due to non-compliance with corporate product specs.
  • FSIC obtained $43,000 for a client during a six-month audit period.
  • FSIC uncovered a $39,000 overcharge when contract pricing was not in place.
  • FSIC discovered that language changes in a proposed addendum to a client's distribution agreement would have cost the client over $600,000, had it been executed as written.
  • FSIC's IntelliSpend System found a 1.5% annual overcharge on total spend for a client, by identifying that units were charged different invoice prices for the same items, delivered on the same day. In addition, the category margin documented in the client's MDA was incorrectly input in the distributor's system, resulting in incorrect pricing.
  • FSIC helped one client realize a savings of over $443,000 from their distribution contract by changing just one sentence in the contract.
  • In a re-negotiation of a distributor contract, FSIC negotiated over $500,000 in signing bonuses (cash) for one of its clients.

Learn What your Distributors Mean by "Cost"

Food Logistics magazine has stated that 10% to 25% of the cost of product is attributed to logistics costs. Properly investigating and tracking freight costs can reduce your overall product cost. Get a handle on rogue purchasing by learning the difference between all types of costs including: “landed cost”, “padded cost”, “market cost”, and “freight cost”. FSIC can help you navigate your way to understanding these costs.
